The water main break has been repaired, and water is now flowing through the City’s distribution system. However, the DEQ-issued No Use Order remains in effect at this time.
Restoring service following a major water system failure is a multi-step process that extends beyond completing the repair itself. Crews must flush the entire distribution system and collect a series of water samples that must be analyzed by a certified laboratory to verify that the water is safe for use.
Additionally, water must be reintroduced into the system gradually to prevent pressure surges that could cause further damage to the infrastructure.
Based on the current timeline and required testing procedures, we anticipate the No Use Order will remain in effect until at least Friday. We understand this situation is difficult and inconvenient for everyone affected, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.
We would also like to thank the volunteers who have generously donated their time to assist with bottled water distribution to residents during this emergency.
Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available. We can only share updates when confirmed information has been received.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
